HealthFinders’ Advanced Dental Therapist, Jenny Berge, presented at National Dental Conference
Recently HealthFinders' Advanced Dental Therapist,
Jenny Berge, had the opportunity to present at the 94th Annual Conference of the American Dental Hygienist’s Association (ADHA). Jenny co-presented with Anne Lynch, the Director of Governmental Affairs, on the topic of Dental Therapy. Anne Lynch gave an overview on the accreditation standards for Dental Therapy and those states proposing legislation for a Mid-Level Oral Health Practitioner. Jenny's topic focused on the Advanced Dental Therapist’s role in Minnesota, as Jenny has been practicing as one since 2013. She expressed that she enjoyed telling the audience about her unique practice setting at HealthFinders and her scope of practice.
Every year the American Dental Hygienist's Association holds this conference in order to allow dental hygienists to "learn, engage, and advance" in their field. The conference hosts sessions to clinical practitioners, public health professionals, public health professionals, students, emerging professionals, educators, and researchers continue their education. At the conference, she also had the opportunity to participate in the podcast “A Tale of Two Hygienists with Michelle and Andrew”. Their podcast tackles life as a dental hygienist with humor and zeal. She talked about collaborative practice dental hygiene and restorative function certification, noting that it was a very fun interview. She had a wonderful experience at this conference and says, "This was a great opportunity for me to network with colleagues, share my experience, and tell the HealthFinders story".
