HealthFinders recently vaccinated 30 children and adults in the Hulett Community Trailer in Faribault and another 30 at the Greenvale Park Community school. The immunization clinics were held at the same time as our diabetes program class, but we encouraged participants to bring their families and neighbors when they came. The clinics have been going for the past 5 years and they are an annual collaboration between Rice County Public Health and HFC. In addition to vaccinations against influenza, the public health nurses also ensure the Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Shingles and Pneumonia vaccines are also given to people who need them.
Walgreen's Faribault, also recebtly collaborated with HFC and vaccinated 29 people against influenza in partnership, at no charge.
