Charlie Mandile, HealthFinders Collaborative executive director, received the first-ever Health Care Hero Health Care Executive – Nonhospital-based award from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal (MSPBJ). In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, MSPBJ launched the Health Care Heroes Awards to recognize innovative, dedicated, and compassionate individuals in the Twin Cities whose work improves the quality of health care. Mandile joined HealthFinders in 2010 with an impressive resume in health care administration and strategic leadership. He currently serves on the board of Northfield Hospital + Clinics, and is a member of the Statewide Innovation Model Practice Transformation Workgroup and several local organizations. His passion for community engagement aligns with the HealthFinders mission to collaborate and engage communities in their own health, making him more than deserving of this premier award. This recognition honors Mandile’s efforts to develop new programs and initiatives like the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, which provides treatment to patients experiencing opioid use disorder (OUD). “I’m passionate about engaging communities in their health and rethinking primary care,” says Mandile. “Despite the overwhelming events of 2020, we’re doing exciting work at HealthFinders with the mobile dental clinic and success with the MAT program, it’s such an honor to be recognized for this award in its infancy.” The 21 honorees for this award attended a virtual ceremony on June 10 and were each highlighted in an individual MSPBJ story.
